Lowest Rated BCS Title Game Ever

0

A few thoughts from last night’s snooze fest:

  • Apparently the country was not rushing home to tune in to this game. Tom Fornelli of CBSsports.com posted the following:

Television ratings not kind to BCS title game

Fornelli carefully points out the BCS games used to air on Network TV, most recently Fox, before the switch to ESPN. Remember though, this was not the first year on cable. Oregon/Auburn and last year’s BCS games were all on ESPN as well. People are getting tired of the BCS/Bowl nonsense as Fornelli says.

  • Which championship game was harder to watch? Last night’s or the Butler/UCON match-up last April when both teams could not hit the broad side of a barn with a jump shot. The final score in that one was a scintillating 53-41.

  • Why did Les Miles not replace quarterback, Jordan Jefferson with Jarrett Lee? Miles should have pulled him mid-way through the 3rd quarter. He will regret that decision for a long, long time. Jefferson had a deer in the headlights look on his face the entire 2nd half. Bama’s defense is good but not as good as LSU made them look.

  • Was I the only one wondering what Oklahoma State QB and receiver tandem, Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon could have done in that game – against either LSU or Alabama. I know Ok. State doesn’t have an SEC defense but it sure would have been more fun to see those two chuck it up and down the field instead of the field goal fest we’d already seen once this year. That game just flat out sucked.
