Week 5 Preview: No disrepect to Utah State but…..

….if the Cougars lose to the Aggies Friday night, things will be anything but “Happy” in Utah Valley. BYU has beaten Utah State the last 10 times they’ve played. I think it’s safe to say the Cougars simply have more talent and should win the game. However, BYU’s offense has not shown the ability to finish off drives and put points on the board. It could be a very interesting game Friday in Logan. Should the Cougars find a way to lose – look out – they’ll be 1-4 with an improved San Diego State team coming to town next week. They could be well on their way to a losing season.

However………. my prediction is that BYU finally finds their rhythm on offense and Jake Heaps has a big game. I think this game turns their season around. A loss would do the opposite though and send them into a total tail spin.

If I’ve done nothing to talk you off the ledge, or only pushed you closer, here’s a reminder of betters times in Cougar Land.

Utah is off this week and Boise State might as well be. The Broncos play New Mexico State.

Of course the big national games this week are:

Alabama/Florida, Texas/OU, Oregon/Stanford

Many believe Oregon is for real. I am not one of them. In fact, I’d be real leery of counting USC out of things in the Pac-10. I know they were down last year and they are on probation this year. Last I checked though, they are still loaded with talent. USC is totally under the radar at this point and all the love is going to Stanford, Oregon and most recently to UCLA, because of their big upset of Texas. How great would it be to see bowl ineligible, USC totally screw up the BCS this year.
