BYU Football to Play at Nebraska in 2015
Exciting news for BYU Football fans! The Cougars will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to play the Cornhuskers in the first game of the 2015 season.
Here are the details from Jay Drew of the Salt Lake Tribune:
BYU Football: Cougars will play at Nebraska in 2015
The game will likely be televised on national TV and should boost BYU’s strength of schedule that season.
However, the two most important issues this match-up does not address: 1) a better home schedule, and 2) a better November schedule.
Don’t get me wrong – I applaud BYU for scheduling great teams with great tradition, like Nebraska. However, I sure hope this game leads to a return trip to Provo or a future home and home series. Athletic Director, Tom Holmoe hints at this in the article.
BYU plays a pretty aggressive schedule starting next year with recognizable names such as Boise State, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Utah, Washington State and Oregon State. Only problem is – the first four, and best teams on that list, will all be road games. Cougar Fans want to see some of these big boys coming to their place, rather than road games, neutral sites or 2 for 1’s. This will obviously continue to be one of the challenges of football independence.
